Role Overview

Responsibilities- Support and participate in the implementation of the strategic health and safety action plan and risk management processes related to the company's activities and operations.
- Support all stations in their daily management of health and safety.
- Develop, administer and continuously improve health and safety prevention programs to support the company's orientations and reduce risks.
- Participate in the development, implementation and dissemination of health and safety training activities for managers and employees.
- Accompany the managers of the different provinces and departments during the investigation and analysis of accidents and follow up on corrective measures.
- Build and update internal health and safety audits on all operations in Canada.
- Collaborate in the definition of performance indicators related to health and safety and in the development of a dashboard.
- Update and analyze performance indicators for operations and the service center.
- Conduct safety compliance audits to ensure standards are met and communicate safety performance indicators to managers.
- Manage training of first aid employees and ensure standards are maintained.
- Manage training of OHS committee members and ensure quorum standards are maintained.
- Follow up on the Occupational Health and Safety Committees.
- Conduct accident analysis and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain health and safety programs by ensuring manuals, guides, presentations and other tools are kept up to date.
- Supervise the administrative follow-up of occupational injury files with the federal and provincial authorities governing health and safety.
- Support the Human Resources Director in related tasks.
- Completed university studies in human resources, industrial relations, occupational health and safety or related discipline.
- 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety.
- Health and Safety professional accreditations such as CRSP are an asset.
- Knowledge of the laws of the various provinces and the Canada Labour Code.
- Understanding of occupational injury management.
- Demonstrated autonomy, initiative and strong sense of organization.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems, take initiative and follow up on projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good command of common computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) and knowledge of management systems an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and car are mandatory.
