- Provide daily ore control support in the pit, including geological mapping, ore/waste boundary definition, blasthole and field sampling and field validation of model predictions.
- Support drill and blast optimization by integrating geological understanding with blast patterns and fragmentation expectations.
- Support material classification post‑blast and compare outcomes to predicted ore control models.
- Direct field personnel on proper ore/waste segregation and communicate daily dig guidance to operations supervisors.
- Support test pit programs for ML/ARD material delineation within construction scopes.
- Ensure that blast holes are being correctly identified and sampled and that NAG/PAG sampling is performed according to procedure in areas identified.
- Perform data entry, validation, and quality control for blast hole (BH), MLARD characterization and RC drilling information.
- Ensure all mine geology personnel and drilling contractors are working towards providing and collecting the most representative sample possible from the drill rig.
- Conduct pit wall mapping, blast hole mapping and maintain structural, lithological, and mineralization records.
- Ensure timely database entry of assay results and support QA/QC tracking.
- Maintain accuracy of material tracking systems and inputs into reconciliation spreadsheets.
- Appropriately process ore blast movement for mining, through use of specialized equipment, software, and drone technology
- Create and update ore control polygons based on drilling, mapping, and model interpretation.
- Update daily face advance maps, distribute and communicate mining progress to shovel operators at shift change.
