Responsibilities
Wire, fire, and test boilers in the field.
Startup and maintenance of customer equipment.
Knowledge of PLCs, transformers, transmitters, and other controls.
Wire all controls and motors for boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Familiarity with condensate tanks and deaerators.
Read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
Troubleshoot, fire, and set combustion on all types of boilers.
Determine valve trim, regulator size and spring, and other parts needed to fire any boiler.
Maintain condition and inventory of all tools and monitors.
Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.
Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished efficiently and cost‑effectively.
Support other technicians and management with internal and external projects.
Adhere to company policies.
Work both in a team and independently.
Qualifications- Ability to read and work from schematics.
- Knowledge and experience in hot water heating systems and controls.
- Class
A Gas ticket. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Broad knowledge of boiler controls including Honeywell, Fireye, and Siemens.
- Mechanical and electrical background is required.
- Ability to troubleshoot boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to retrofit control systems in the field.
- Ability and knowledge to troubleshoot systems with no schematic.
- Five years’ experience in electrical, control, and boiler field.
- Backflow testing ticket preferred, or willingness to take courses to become ticketed.
Pay Range: $71.43 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
