Utility/Water Treatment Technician (Level III or IV) – Temporary Assignment in Alberta

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Utility/Water Treatment Technicians (Level III or IV) for an upcoming temporary assignment in Alberta. This position will require you to work 12‑hour shifts, 6 days per week when assigned to a project.

Pay & Benefits
  • $55 before overtime
  • $30 per day non‑taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)

Certifications
  • Hold a valid Level III or Level IV Water Treatment certificate
  • Must have a valid Class 5 or G drivers licence.
Duties,

Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to operate machines, mobile equipment and tools used in municipal water treatment facilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Manage and optimize plant performance; react to abnormalities including turbidity, mono‑chloramines, chlorine, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints & drawings.
  • Strong mathematical skills related to calculations for volume, flow, velocity, chemical dosage, consumption, etc.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to provide technician guidance on assignments.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Provide assistance to rural water treatment facilities by remote system monitoring.
  • Minimum 3 years experience.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal).
