Job Overview

Weyerhaeuser’s (Engineered Wood Products) Parallam® manufacturing plant, located on Annacis Island (Delta), British Columbia, is currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician. The plant manufactures high-strength engineered wood product Parallam® in a participative management team concept operation. This full‑time hourly role is part of the Maintenance team and reports to the Electrical Supervisor.

This position involves troubleshooting, general preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and project‑related work. The standard schedule is 8‑hour/day, 5 days/week or 12‑hour/shift with a 3‑week rotation that averages 40 hours/week. Rotational shifts may consist of both day shifts (5:30 am to 5:30 pm) and night shifts (5:30 pm to 5:30 am), including a scheduled Saturday shift.

Shift ready rate: $52.21/hr.

• 3+ years of experience as a BC Journeyman Electrician (or equivalent experience with an interprovincial red seal)
• 3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting
• Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
• Experience on PLC equipment, preferably Allen Bradley – Control Logix and PLC 5
• Variable speed drive experience – preferably Allen Bradley
• Exposure to arc flash safety protocols
• Experience with modern process instrumentation
• General electrical construction knowledge and experience
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving and communication skills
• Well‑developed planning and organizational abilities
• Willingness and ability to work alternate shifts (12‑hour shifts; days/nights and weekends) and be flexible with short‑term scheduling variations
• Commitment to learning new systems and equipment
• Natural self‑starter
• Ability and desire to see tasks through to completion
