Meridian is currently seeking a skilled and motivated full-time Journeyman Carpenter to join our team for an exciting project in Delta, BC.

What You Will Be DoingAs a Journeyman Carpenter you will work alongside experienced site supervisors to support the successful construction of a multi-unit wood-frame hotel project. You will gain valuable hands-on experience while assisting with a variety of carpentry and construction tasks. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Wood-frame construction including walls, floors, roofs, and backing
- Reading and interpreting drawings, building codes, and project specifications
- Perform wood framing quality control inspections to ensure framing is completed accurately, plumb, level, and in accordance with drawings, building codes, and project specifications
- Layout, framing, and installation of walls, ceilings, blocking, and bulkheads
- Installation of doors, windows, hardware, and millwork
- Installation of handrails, guardrails, and other finishing carpentry components
- Deficiency correction and finishing work
- Coordination with site supervisors, trades, and subcontractors
- Operating power tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensuring work is completed in compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project schedules
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and committed to producing quality workmanship in a timely manner. You are organized, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
What You Will Need- Journeyman Carpenter certification preferred
- Previous carpentry experience on multi-family residential, hotel and/or commercial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Experience safely operating power tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Steel-toed boots, tool belt, and basic carpenter hand and power tools
- WHMIS and Fall Protection certifications preferred
- Additional safety certifications and equipment operator tickets are considered an asset
