Join the City of Delta as a full-time Trades 2 Mechanic, where you'll engage in skilled mechanical work. Utilize your expertise in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of our fleet and equipment.
This role demands an experienced and proactive individual who can carry out advanced mechanical tasks. The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson Certificate in Automotive or Heavy-Duty trades, along with a strong knowledge of safety and repair practices. Technical courses and significant hands-on experience are essential, as you will operate with high autonomy in a dynamic shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently
• Overhaul and maintain automotive and heavy-duty equipment
• Fabricate and make adjustments to machinery as needed
• Follow diagrams and sketches for technical tasks
• Support shop supervisors during operations
Requirements:
• Journeyperson Certificate in Automotive or Heavy-Duty
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Considerable experience in mechanical trades
• Completion of Grade 12 and technical courses
• Commitment to obtaining Class 3 Driver’s Licence if not held
