- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
- Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
- Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
- Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
- Develop computerized pattern and layout
- Cut materials using power tools or by hand
- Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
- Fit and join sheet metal parts
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
- Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products Equipment and machinery experience
