Reporting to the Surface Operations Supervisor, the Surface Equipment Operator is responsible for operating surface equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, compactors, dozers and forklifts safely and efficiently across all surface operations.

• Unloading of tractor‑trailer delivery trucks and understanding equipment load limits and load charts
• Safely and efficiently operating large and small equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, excavators, graders, dozers, forklifts, bobcats, fuel wagon, water truck and small loaders
• Fuelling static equipment such as heaters
• Construction and maintenance of surface haul roads, laydowns and parking areas
• Construction and maintenance of dry stack facility
• Hauling mineralised ore and waste between mining and processing operations
• Continuously reviewing scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensuring all safety related activities are undertaken in accordance with Company policies and MSHA requirements including Hazard IDs, pre‑start checks, pre‑start meetings and incident reporting
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas
• Other duties as required

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating surface equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, skid steers and forklifts
• Experience operating equipment in extreme weather conditions such as temperatures to
  -40 °F, snow, ice and wind
• Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem‑solving skills
• Valid driver’s licence required
• High school diploma or GED
• Good communication skills
• Comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures and MSHA requirements
• Must pass a post‑offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check

4 week on, 2 week off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12+ hours a day at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions are expected, including extreme and changing weather, dust, mud, varying levels of noise and light. Employees are required to stay on site at the company‑provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms.

Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable TV programmes. Cell service available via Wi‑Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.
