Delta Family Center Head Start Family Advocate School Year)
Eight hours per day, 177 days per year. Pay rate: $17.19/hour, plus additional amount based on experience or education. Health insurance available through the School District. Retirement benefits through PERA.
Must pass and pay for a fingerprint/background clearance. Must be willing to take the Work Keys test or have 48 hours of college credits.

Qualifications- Education & Experience
- Ability to work under the supervision of Backpack/BELA/Family Literacy coordinators
- Ability to be flexible with schedules and job assignment
- Willingness to attend conferences and trainings as needed
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more
- Computer skills necessary:
Mac-based platform, Google, and knowledge of web-based navigation - Office duties to include customer service, fax/copy skills, filing, scheduling clients, and office assistance as determined
- Work ethic that exemplifies enthusiasm, teamwork, and self-motivation
- Required to meet Highly Qualified status (High School Diploma/GED and Associate degree or 48 hours of college credit or have passed the Work Keys test)
- Fingerprint and background clearance
- Individual must show the following qualities for high-needs and often intense caseloads: takes initiative, demonstrated leadership skills, problem-solving skills, team oriented, show objectivity, strength‑based, listening skills, empathy, organized, flexibility, critical thinking skills, asservice, positive, confidential, and maintain with high fidelity personal and professional boundaries
- Case management, direct services, and resource referrals (economic and non‑economic)
- Advocate for families by setting collaborative goals, referral to community resources, identifying support systems, discussing family stressors, assisting with developing problem‑solving strategies, teaching financial literacy strategies, and encouraging healthy parenting strategies
- Family engagement practices include empowerment, encouragement, and education so families can overcome crisis, maltreatment, and family stressors
- Complete comprehensive assessments to gain insight into the family system
- Home visitation services, including travel through the area served
- Financial decision‑making assistance and coaching, inclusive of Flex Funding options
- Documentation of services provided and resources suggested
- Data entry in web‑based databases, SharePoint and ETO
- Serve as a liaison between schools, community agencies and professionals as determined
- Attend multiple professional/personal development trainings
- Complete basic office management services
- Uphold responsibility as a mandatory reporter for Delta County School District
