Federal Programs and Grant Coordinator

The Federal Programs and Grant Coordinator supports Delta County School District 50J by securing and administering external funding and coordinating assigned federal programs. The position leads grant development, grant administration, compliance, reporting, and program coordination; collaborates with District leaders, staff, families, and community partners; and serves as a District liaison to the Colorado Department of Education, federal agencies, and other grantors.

The position works closely with the Superintendent.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, minimum of three years of successful experience in public education, grant administration, federal programs, or a closely related field, demonstrated ability to plan, organize, solve problems, meet deadlines, and implement complex projects, excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, fingerprint and background clearance, and alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in education, public administration, or a related field, experience administering federal education programs and a thorough understanding of applicable federal and state requirements, successful grant-writing and grant-management experience, knowledge of Colorado Department of Education grant systems and reporting requirements, and bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Essential job functions include organizing and submitting required applications, plans, amendments, and reports to the Colorado Department of Education and other funding agencies for assigned federal, state, local, and private programs, coordinating assigned federal programs, researching and identifying federal, state, foundation, corporate, and community grant opportunities aligned with District priorities and student needs, preparing and submitting competitive grant applications, continuation applications, amendments, budget transfers, reimbursement requests, and required performance reports by established deadlines, maintaining fiscal responsibility by monitoring budgets and expenditures, reviewing requests for grant-funded purchases, coordinating reimbursement processes, and maintaining required equipment and inventory records, monitoring grant-funded programs and interventions to ensure compliance with grant requirements, federal and state law, Board policy, approved budgets, and program objectives, maintaining accurate grant files and documentation for reporting, audits, monitoring visits, program reviews, and records-retention requirements, coordinating program reporting and evaluation, including analysis of student and program outcomes, and recommending changes or improvements as appropriate, collaborating with administrators, teachers, program staff, the Business Office, and community partners to develop grant narratives, goals, measurable objectives, implementation plans, evaluation measures, and budgets, providing technical assistance and consultation to principals, teachers, and program staff regarding program implementation, allowable expenditures, documentation, and compliance, coordinating or arranging professional development related to assigned federal programs and grant-funded initiatives, consulting with teachers, families, non-public schools, community organizations, and other required stakeholders in accordance with program requirements, serving as a District liaison to the Colorado Department of Education, federal agencies, and other grantors for assigned programs, coordinating District responsibilities under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and other assigned student-support programs, coordinating required services and consultation for eligible non-public schools and institutions serving neglected or delinquent children, developing and maintaining an annual grant calendar and providing regular updates to District leadership regarding applications, awards, deadlines, compliance requirements, and outcomes, working independently and collaboratively to maintain a professional, responsive, and service-oriented work environment, interacting effectively and professionally with students, families, staff, administrators, Board members, community partners, and the public, following oral and written instructions and complying with District, state, and federal policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, maintaining confidentiality regarding student, family, personnel, and District information, keeping current with relevant laws, regulations, research, technology, grant requirements, and professional standards, attending meetings, conferences, training sessions, and professional development activities as required, traveling throughout the District and attending occasional evening or weekend meetings and events, and performing other duties as assigned by the Superintendent that are consistent…
