Lab Technician

Key Responsibilities

Collect product and process samples in accordance with plant quality procedures.

Perform routine laboratory testing to verify product quality and support specification compliance.

Record, review, and communicate test results accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain laboratory equipment, testing supplies, and a clean, organized work area.

Support troubleshooting by identifying unusual results, trends, or potential process issues.

Work closely with operations and maintenance personnel to support safe, efficient plant performance.

Follow all safety, environmental, and quality requirements at all times.

Assist with documentation, shift records, and other plant reporting as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in chemistry, laboratory science, or a related field preferred.

Experience in an industrial laboratory, manufacturing environment, mining, lime, cement, aggregates, or related process industry preferred.

Ability to follow standardized testing procedures and maintain accurate records.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality.

Basic computer skills for entering data, completing reports, and using plant systems.

Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with cross-functional plant teams.

Understanding of safe work practices in an industrial environment.

Work Environment and

Physical Requirements

Work may take place in laboratory and plant areas, including exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and changing temperatures.

Must be able to work safely around industrial equipment and processes.

May be required to lift, carry, push, or move materials and equipment as part of daily duties.

Must be able to access various areas of the plant, which may include heights and confined spaces, consistent with site safety procedures and job requirements.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all site safety policies.
