Join our dynamic surgical team as a Registered Nurse (RN), where you’ll deliver exceptional, patient-centered care across all age groups. Working under the guidance of the Surgical Services Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes while fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and families.
What You’ll Do- Conduct patient histories and comprehensive pre-operative assessments
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient charts
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient conditions
- Carry out pre- and post-operative physician and anesthesia orders
- Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families
- Manage post-operative pain and nausea effectively
- Monitor surgical sites and patient recovery progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Create a welcoming, calm, and supportive environment for patients
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado
- Basic Life Support (
BLS
) certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (
ACLS
) certification (upon hire or within 6 months)
- Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience
- Reports to:
Manager, Surgery Unit - Supervises:
Assigned unlicensed assistive personnel - Collaborates with:
Physicians, surgical teams, radiology staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals - Supports and communicates with patients and their families
This role requires stamina, strength, and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting:
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Lifting and moving patients/equipment (up to 250 lbs with assistance)
- Manual dexterity to operate specialized medical equipment
- Ability to respond quickly to alarms and patient needs
- Capability to perform clinical assessments (palpation, auscultation, inspection)
- Comfort working in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments
