Quality Assurance and Training Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Quality and Improvement, this role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting excellence in service delivery across all programs. The Quality and Training Specialist will facilitate and conduct internal audits of program recordsto ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards, monitor risk and incidents, design and deliver high-quality training for direct support professionals, managers and supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and implement a risk-based audit plan, focusing on regulatory compliance, licensing standards, and agency policies across all sites.
• Facilitate internal and external audits, licensing survey preparation, and corrective action plans
• Prepare clear, actionable reports for cross-departmental teams and senior leadership.
• Support end-users on Electronic Healthcare Record, Scheduling, Pharmacy and other applications to ensure effective software utilization and maximum productivity
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive measures to enhance safety and service quality
• Liaise between Quality Assurance, Residential Operations, Nursing, Clinical, and other departments to ensure alignment of compliance priorities and consistent implementation of quality standards
• Design, deliver, and evaluate onboarding, annual, and specialized training programs (including Electronic Healthcare Record, Scheduling, and Pharmacy applications) for DSPs and managers.
• Maintaindata, track reports, and ensure timely submission to relevant oversight agencies
• Provide guidance, including in-person instruction, e-learning, and hands-on training—to meet diverse learning needs and support effective knowledge transfer
• Collaborate with Day Operations and Organizational Learning department to develop and maintain training materials such as manuals, videos, and assessments tailored to specific roles within program settings
• Address audit findings, compliance gaps, and performance concerns through targeted training, coaching, and follow-up to ensure sustained improvement and adherence to standards
• Regularly visit programs to observe operations, review records, and ensure best practices are implemented.
• Assist with compliance reporting and other documentation as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work or a related field or equivalent work experience preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in human services, quality assurance, or program management and auditing
• Knowledge of DDS regulations and best practices for individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Solid technical background with an ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Experience with training development and coordination, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives preferred
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Qualifying criminal background screening

This is an hourly, full time position, with a range of $26.44 to $28.84 per hour and is based in the Delta Projects’ office.
