This role offers the opportunity to develop specialized technical skills while working on infrastructure projects that help keep communities, businesses, and critical services connected.

What You'll Do

As a Fiber Network Technician, you'll play an active role in the construction, maintenance, testing, and restoration of fiber‑optic systems.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Installing, terminating, and splicing fiber‑optic cable
  • Testing network performance and identifying service issues
  • Troubleshooting outages and supporting restoration efforts
  • Reading maps, project drawings, and construction documentation
  • Assisting with aerial and underground fiber installations
  • Operating safely around equipment, traffic, and active construction zones
  • Recording test results and project updates accurately
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicles
  • Following all safety procedures and quality standards

This position offers variety and challenge. Projects, locations, and daily tasks can change frequently, creating opportunities to gain broad experience across multiple types of telecommunications work.

Travel Opportunities

This position supports projects throughout multiple states and requires the ability and willingness to travel as business needs dictate.

Current travel assignments generally operate on a 7‑days‑on/7‑days‑off schedule, allowing employees dedicated time at home between project rotations.

Qualifications
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to distinguish colors and interpret technical information
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and rotating shifts when travelling
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
Relevant Experience

No fiber‑optic experience is required.
