Position: Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) | Deltona, Florida
Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This contract role is based onsite within schools near Deltona, FL, with assignments in the Oviedo and Sanford areas. You'll play a key part in delivering compensatory services, conducting evaluations when needed, and focusing primarily on direct therapy to empower students with visual impairments.

This position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week during the school year from August 10, 2026, to May 25, 2027. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply and bring their expertise in orientation and mobility to a diverse student population.

Qualifications:

• National Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M/OMS) Licensure required
• Must possess a Vision Certification
• Valid driver's license and social security card required
• Professional license (original physical copy)
• Successful completion of Form 1403 Fingerprinting and receipt confirmation from a Field Print location
• Completion of I9 documentation (sections 1 and
  2)
• Ability to provide required demographic information and email address for credentialing
• Prior school-based experience is an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct orientation and mobility therapy to students K-12
• Provide compensatory services aligned with IEP goals
• Conduct evaluations as needed to determine student needs and progress
• Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student development
• Adhere to district and compliance protocols for documentation and credentialing
