job summary

serves as district contact for first‑level support and reporting of technical issues on district equipment. Manages operational information for the technology center day‑to‑day activity. Files complete, tracks, and reports on technology inventory flows within the district. Serves as receptionist for the technology center building and provides clerical support to the director of technology.

essential duties and responsibilities
  • foster excellent customer service relationships with district employees who rely on the technology center for support.
  • greet visitors and answer phone calls to the technology center.
  • provide first‑level technical support to callers needing assistance.
  • create work orders as needed for technology center staff to document team workload.
  • type, prepare, distribute, file records, reports, correspondence, and mailings using computers and software.
  • communicate with others using telephone and computer mail systems.
  • maintain records, documents, and files in hard copy and on computer databases and retrieve information from files.
  • order, process, and maintain office supplies and equipment.
  • operate modern office equipment including a pc and related software.
  • perform related duties as required by supervisor.
qualifications

education and experience

high school diploma or general education degree; one year related experience in using microsoft office products such as word, excel and access.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of people. Ability to communicate in a straightforward way that does not sound accusatory or impatient, or cause anyone to become defensive.

reasoning ability

ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

certificates, licenses, registrations

valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the district for insurance purposes.
