Position Summary:The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care to residents in a long-term care and skilled nursing setting. CNAs assist residents with daily living activities, ensure their comfort and safety, and support the nursing staff in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.
  • Take and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Help residents with mobility, including transferring, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
  • Document care provided and observations in accordance with facility policies.
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic resident care.
  • Observing resident behavior, mood, and physical condition, noting any changes and reporting them to the nurse.
  • Serve meals and assist residents with eating as needed.
  • Maintain resident's personal hygiene by assisting with oral care, incontinence care, and changing bed linens.
  • Implement safety precautions to prevent falls and injuries.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current CNA certification in the state of New Mexico.
  • CPR certification (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Work Environment
    • Fast-paced healthcare setting.
    • Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids.
    • Interaction with elderly and disabled residents.
