Total Care ABA is seeking a qualified Autism Evaluation Practitioner (AEP) to conduct

comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations for children and families throughout New

Mexico.

This is a flexible opportunity for an experienced clinician who is passionate about helping

families access timely autism evaluations and appropriate therapeutic services.

Qualified practitioners may begin part-time and gradually transition into a full-time caseload as

credentialing is completed across Total Care ABA’s New Mexico insurance networks.

As an Autism Evaluation Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for

children and families referred to Total Care ABA. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations for new Total Care ABA families
• Evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder and related neurodevelopmental conditions
  
  Conduct comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations in accordance with New Mexico Medicaid requirements.
• Completing required diagnostic documentation, including Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations (CDEs) and Integrated Service Plans (ISPs).
• Providing families with clear clinical recommendations and next steps.
• Collaborating with Total Care ABA's clinical and administrative teams to help families access recommended services.
• Maintaining timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation using electronic health record systems.
• Conducting in-person and/or telehealth evaluations, as clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable payer requirements.

Candidates must meet New Mexico Medicaid requirements to serve as an Autism Evaluation Practitioner, including being one of the following:

• Autism Evaluation Practitioner (AEP)
• New Mexico
• Doctoral-level clinical psychologist.
• MD or DO who is board-certified or board-eligible in an applicable specialty, including developmental-behavioral pediatrics, pediatric neurology, child psychiatry, adolescent psychiatry, or adult psychiatry.
• Advanced training and clinical experience in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Experience conducting and documenting comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations.
• Advanced training in differential diagnosis.
• Knowledge of ABA and other evidence-based interventions.
• Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Active New Mexico professional licensure and eligibility to serve as a New Mexico Medicaid Autism Evaluation Practitioner.
• Strong technology skills are an absolute requirement. Candidates must be comfortable using electronic health record systems, digital documentation platforms, virtual communication tools, and other technology necessary to conduct evaluations and manage clinical documentation efficiently.
• Experience with Central Reach is highly preferred. Candidates with demonstrated proficiency using Central Reach for clinical documentation, scheduling, and electronic health record management will receive strong consideration.
• Previous experience conducting autism diagnostic evaluations via telehealth is a major plus. Candidates should be comfortable utilizing virtual assessment platforms and conducting clinically appropriate remote evaluations.

Current enrollment with New Mexico Medicaid as an Autism Evaluation Practitioner is strongly

preferred but not required.
