Pueblo City-County Library District is hiring for a
Librarian/Assistant Branch Manager.

With roots stretching back to 1891 and now covering a region of approximately 170,000 residents, the Pueblo City-County Library District is the award-winning public library system serving Pueblo City and Pueblo County, Colorado, including the communities of Beulah, Rye, and Colorado City.

Pueblo is a multicultural community at the confluence of the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek. Downtown's 1.5-mile Historic Arkansas Riverwalk serves as a centerpiece for the city's three-district Creative Corridor of galleries, cultural destinations and events.

This position reports to the Branch Manager and works as second in charge to manage daily operations at the Branch Library. The position also works closely with outside organizations and contractors to deliver programs and build partnerships. The position provides excellent customer service demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with people regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, ability level or background.

• Promotes facilitated Customer Service by proactively approaching customers to offer assistance. Assists customers with finding library materials and provides information to broaden their awareness of library resources and services.
• For youth focus will present story times, outreach programs to schools, and coordinates library reading programs and other programs for children; provides outreach services to schools and daycares.
• For adult focus will partner with outside organizations and businesses to meet the needs of the community; provide outreach services to senior living facilities and community service centers.
• Builds community partnerships and arranges programs for the public which promote the use of library materials and services.
• Creates bibliographies for public distribution.
• Assists the Branch Manager with the daily operations of the branch library to include safety and security.
• Assists the Branch Manager with staffing coverage and scheduling for the branch.
• Serves as the Person-In-Charge and acting Supervisor in the manager’s absence; to include: opening and/or closing duties, filling shifts as needed to ensure coverage of service desks and adjusting the schedule as required; performing cash reconciliations for coin-enabled equipment working with the finance department to maintain efficient and secure cash management activities; and attending leadership meetings on behalf of the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  
  May also approve time-off requests and employee time cards as directed by the manager.
• Explains library regulations and procedures, and resolves basic patron issues.
• Works with Community Relations to promote programs and services.
• Provides public instruction in the use of library e-resources, computers, digital devices and other new resources and equipment available to customers.
