Luna Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will play an essential part in delivering safe, accurate medication administration while assisting residents with their daily care needs in a skilled nursing environment.
Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you will help ensure residents receive exceptional, person-centered care while promoting their comfort, dignity, safety, and overall well‑being. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will build meaningful relationships with residents and contribute to positive clinical outcomes every day.
Key Responsibilities- Administer prescribed medications accurately and in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and New Mexico regulations.
- Observe residents for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and changes in condition, reporting findings promptly to licensed nursing staff.
- Obtain and document vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and oxygen saturation as directed.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Safely assist residents with transfers, ambulation, repositioning, and the use of mobility devices.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of medication administration and resident care within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Monitor resident conditions and communicate physical, emotional, or behavioral changes to the supervising nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment while following infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with licensed nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure individualized care plans are implemented effectively.
- Adhere to all facility policies, CMS regulations, New Mexico state requirements, and infection control standards.
- Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life through compassionate care and respectful interactions.
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing in the State of New Mexico.
- Current Medication Aide certification in good standing in the State of New Mexico.
- Ability to administer medications within the scope of New Mexico certification requirements.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate medication administration and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations.
