Role: Outpatient RN CAP 1, an entry‑level registered nurse position within the Clinical Advancement Program, responsible for providing and coordinating patient care in a hemodialysis setting.
Responsibilities include: Conducting patient assessments, developing and modifying treatment plans, administering medications, and ensuring safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team, educates patients and families, manages laboratory procedures, and participates in quality improvement activities. They may delegate tasks to other care staff and assist with emergency response.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification. Entry‑level experience with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing preferred, with some experience in hemodialysis beneficial. Must meet practice requirements, with physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment, and work in a healthcare environment.
Supervision & Physical Demands: May oversee Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, or LVNs after meeting training and experience criteria. The role involves physical tasks like lifting, standing, and bending, and may require travel to training or other facilities. The work environment is typical of healthcare settings, with exposure to infectious materials and moderate noise levels.
