Within the hospital’s risk management and patient safety department, the Risk Management Nurse Director will oversee a comprehensive program focused on proactive risk identification, regulatory readiness, event review, claims prevention, patient advocacy, and performance improvement. The Risk Management Nurse Director will use clinical expertise and data-driven strategies to evaluate trends, conduct root cause analyses, support corrective action plans, promote Just Culture principles, and help ensure alignment with applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and national best practices.

Reporting to senior hospital leadership, the Risk Management Nurse Director will receive executive support while partnering closely with nursing leaders, physicians, quality professionals, legal resources, compliance, infection prevention, human resources, and operational teams. Key responsibilities include guiding incident investigations, educating staff, maintaining risk management policies, monitoring safety metrics, advising leaders on complex clinical concerns, and advancing organization-wide prevention initiatives.
