POSITION: SERVICE TECHNICIAN 1
Salary $37,000 - $52,000 based on applicable experience and skill.
The Service Technician 1 is responsible for assisting and supporting the Cooperative’s Automated Metering Infrastructure, Vegetation Management Plan and miscellaneous duties. This position performs trouble shooting and correcting problems with devices, including electric meters, relays and access points, in the office and in the field. Downloads and reviews AMI trouble reports daily. Installs and removes voltage recorders and power monitoring equipment on single-phase installations.
Performs single-phase meter change outs, connects and disconnects with minimal supervision. Tests meters and associated equipment for accuracy, tampering, and integrated devices functionality. Operates and maintains test equipment and overhauls and repairs meters. Collects, monitors and tracks accurate readings, records and information of devices, line inspections, substation inspections and maintenance programs in Excel. Processes and tracks remedial actions. Monitors red flag warnings.
Monitors VMP targets.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Combination of education and experience in technical training or a few years in electrical/metering work.
- Previous electric utility experience preferred.
- Possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License (Class A CDL preferred).
