Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two (2) weeks of closing date.

This position will operate medium to heavy duty equipment in a safe and efficient manner to repair and maintain interstate, roads, roadways, highways, bridges and structures, and erosion repairs throughout District One for the safety of the traveling public.

By operating medium to heavy duty equipment. Utilize hand and power tools. Perform operator level maintenance on equipment and tools.

The traveling public and pedestrians.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Six (6) months experience operating 10-yard dump truck, loader, backhoe, mower w/attachments, Blade, roller, broom and other light to heavy duty equipment.
• Ability to repair and maintain roadways and bridges, guardrail, fences and other roadway features.
• Perform operator level preventive maintenance checks and services on equipment and tools.
• Ability to utilize a computer.
• Ability to utilize hand tools to service, clean, maintain and repair equipment, buildings, grounds and fixtures.
• Preference will be given to applicants with a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of experience maintaining roads and operating medium to heavy-duty equipment to include loader, five (5) and ten (10) yard dump trucks, self-propelled brooms, rollers, or mowers. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.

Must possess a valid driver's license and a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), (or equivalent licenses from another state) within one (1) year of hire. This position may require Herbicide, Tanker and/or Hazmat endorsement.

This position is designated a safety sensitive position within the meaning of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991 and must abide by all provisions of the Federal Omnibus Transportation Testing Act. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.

Employment requires successful completion of a post-offer physical and pre-employment drug test; employment is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License. A Class B Commercial Drivers License within six (6) months of hire and Class A Commercial Drivers License within nine (9) months of hire is required. Must pass demonstrative abilities with a 75% or better to advance to the interview.

Business reference checks and drivers license verification are also required, and employment is conditional pending results.
