Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for managing and administrating the preventative maintenance program, work order program, and managing all facets of the Demopolis plant’s maintenance SAP/MRO functions. This role works closely with the department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members, in order to accomplish accuracy within the processing department and to ensure that our customers receive quality products.
This position executes processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, supporting Foster Poultry Farms’ mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles:

Essential Functions
- Plan and schedule preventive and predictive maintenance work orders with the PMC system.
- Manage PMC and SAP work flow in the department.
- Plan and schedule project/capital projects with outside vendors.
- Tracking maintenance spending in reference to budget, projects, etc.
- Ensure that necessary parts, materials, equipment and contractor’s are on site when needed.
- Develop and analyze downtime, historical data to develop plan on preventive and predictive maintenance. Ensure that all maintenance is being performed within established timelines, utilizing all efficiencies and available min-hours.
- Develop a work flow for inventory control and staff to ensure inventory is maintained and parts are available for scheduled maintenance and all other maintenance repairs.
- Schedule maintenance timely and around production schedules ensuring that all necessary parts or materials are ordered and received to complete any project when scheduled.
- Scheduling work with respect to budgetary impact;
Sourcing alternate suppliers/contractors. - Develop protocol to ensure inventory clerks order parts timely. Manage inventory control through cycle counts adjusting minimum and maximum levels as needed.
- Participate in personnel training programs, seminars and/or trade shows as available.
- Report maintenance KPI’s to other maintenance and plant management.
- Other duties as assigned.
All personnel employed or associated with Foster Poultry Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions. Each new hire is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year.
Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor
- Must be able to withstand a cold (40-48 degree) environment.
- Must be able to withstand a hot (80+ degree) environment.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a fast pace work environment.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to submitand pass a criminal background check, drug screen, andE-verify.
- Must be able to read and write
English. - Must have basic math skills.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- A. /B.S. degree or AA/B.S. degree or technical school graduate or a minimum of 3 years experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Must have previous Supervisory experience.
- Must have knowledge of production equipment fundamentals.
- Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
