DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Electronic Technician designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots plant instrumentation and control devices, including the installation and programming of PLCs. Works closely with department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members to ensure accurate processing and quality products.
- Performs repair, testing and maintenance tasks related to the Corndog facility.
- Designs and/or upgrades/installs plant instruments and control devices.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment.
- Conducts preventive maintenance and rebuilds equipment as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements:
- Stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor.
- Withstand a cold (40‑48°F) environment.
- Withstand a hot (80°F+) environment.
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E‑verify.
- Read and write English.
- Have basic math skills.
- Have reliable transportation.
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Communicate with all levels including management.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Decision‑making ability for flagging deviations from procedures.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation and cleanup preferred.
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Work safely and set an example of safe working habits for coworkers.
- Operate forklift and/or pallet jack safely.
- Wear company‑provided PPE.
- Maintain current and accurate records of work performed.
- Operate a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Research, design, install, program, and maintain programmable logic controls.
- Order supplies, equipment, or services.
- Read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Operate digital keyboards, digital metering devices, soldering equipment, and small hand tools.
- Monitor/interpret schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
- Minimum 3 years on‑job experience in industrial electrical field.
