The Team
This role will report to the Head of Operations and Data Protection, or relevant delegate as part of the wider European Operations team.
The Position
This role would be responsible for providing important administrative support and coordination to the European Operations and Data Protection team. The Operations and Data Protection Coordinator will support the Head of Operations and Data Protection to ensure that crucial day-to-day tasks, specifically in relation to Data Protection, are completed and documented, as well as supporting on conducting assessments and investigations as required.
In addition, the role will conduct research and provide guidance to the wider Operations team on aspects of operational risk (including Health & Safety and Data Protection).
Provide support to the Head of Operations and Data Protection on administration of European Data Protection.Act as an internal point of contact on Operations and Data Protection including providing management of inboxes and escalation of queries or reports.Monitor and advise Head of Operations & Data Protection of developments and updates from the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) in the Netherlands and European Data Protection Board.Essential Responsibilities
Data Protection and Privacy:
In collaboration with the Head of Operations & Data Protection, provide cover for the Mercy Corps in Europe data protection email address.Work with the Head of Operations and Data Protection to track and record divergences between the GDPR and UK Data Protection legislation.In collaboration with the Head of Operations & Data Protection, coordinate quarterly reviews of the ROPA with department leads and provide summary progress reports.In collaboration with the Head of Operations & Data Protection, review or support in drafting Privacy Impact Assessments where appropriate on processing of personal data and with the support of the Head of Operations & Data Protection, provide guidance to ensure that all new systems or processes implement privacy by design.In collaboration with Head of Operations & Data Protection, IT and other departments as appropriate, provide administrative support to ensure Data Subject Access Requests are handled in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.In collaboration with the Head of Operations & Data Protection and other stakeholders as relevant, provide administrative support to ensure that data incidents are recorded and support with reporting to the Dutch AP where necessary.Support in the development, scheduling and tracking of onboarding and refresher trainings across the European team.Record and distribute minutes for MCE and MCNL Data Oversight group and provide a support role.Provide support to and collaborate with the Head of Operations & Data Protection on Data Protection related matters.Provide support to and collaborate with the Head of Operations & Data Protection for being a champion of Data Protection compliance.In collaboration with the Head of Operations & Data Protection, create an open and approachable environment for colleagues seeking guidance.Operations:
Support on required Health and Safety risk assessments for MCNL sites (Brussels and The Hague).Monitor and advise Head of Operations & Data Protection of developments and updates from Health and Safety regulators.Provide support with MCNL insurance renewals.Along with Operations team, monitor Europe-Operations inbox.Review Operations policies and procedures as required.Support Head of Operations & Data Protection in creating streamlined and efficient processes across all European sites.Provide support to Head of Operations and Data Protection on all aspects of Operations Management in Europe.Supervisory Responsibility
