Responsibilities- Lead project managers and the product deployment teams to execute deployments effectively within defined scope, budget and timeline, supporting the product value proposition for terminals and end-customers.
- Enable deployment teams to operationalize global, cross-functional product definitions within terminal-specific conditions and align site-specific configurations between global and local stakeholders.
- Manage deployment teams to implement automated products in live terminal operations as planned, avoiding local business disruption and resolving day-to-day challenges.
- Continuously ensure the deployment fulfills all site-specific needs, in consultation with terminal teams, within the product blueprint for site deployment.
- Ensure a consistent deployment approach across all sites and resolve related challenges.
- Own deployment-specific performance criteria, monitor progress and take actions as needed.
- Manage deployment resources and optimize assignments based on priority and expertise.
- Work closely with product pillars to establish a common deployment approach, achieve improved product experience, apply best practices and ensure relevant frameworks are implemented.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop effective business partnerships and proactively ensure delivery meets APM Terminals plans and targets.
- Facilitate first-line support for deployments at terminals until go-live and remain involved until operations stabilize.
- Monitor all deployment-related risks and opportunities, leading mitigation and exploitation.
- Establish a framework for facilitating capability building and knowledge transfer to terminal staff as part of deployments.
- Ensure compliance with safety and other relevant regulations during deployment.
- Maximize and continuously improve consistency between product deployments across multiple terminals.
- Coach and develop project managers.
Experience: An extensive (10+ years) in project deployment, standards/controls and contract management within wider portfolios and matrix organizations; strong technical project management skillset, preferably in logistics, with hands-on experience managing large-scale project or product deployments globally; general knowledge of automation an asset; passion for automated product solutions and technology; solid awareness of industrial production and related processes.
- Team player, capable of motivating peers and reports to achieve project success.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Solid people-leadership skills for driving success of project managers and deployment teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills – ability to establish long-term successful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong prioritization abilities and can-do mindset – ability to motivate teams to achieve roadmap deliverables and create a performance-driven organization.
- Ability to balance short-term deliverables and long-term business objectives.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Continuous focus on driving change management as key enabler for stakeholder buy-in and successful deployment outcomes.
- Persuasive, able to influence colleagues and vendors to reach functional or project goals.
- Driven, self-motivated, result-oriented.
- High discipline – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
- Willingness to be present onsite and gain ground exposure to deployments.
- High quality awareness and ability to work with constant care.
- Sensitive to cultural diversity and experienced in a multicultural environment.
Engineering, finance, or business degree (or similar).
