LocationLocation: The Hague, Netherlands (The role may require occasional short‑term travel).
Purpose of the roleTo define and lead APM Terminals’ global social investment strategy, ensuring alignment with the Maersk Group Commit framework, business strategy and stakeholder expectations.
To design, mobilise and oversee high‑impact social investment programmes that strengthen local economies, supply chains and communities around our terminals.
To position APM Terminals as a credible partner for governments, development actors and investors, enabling the mobilisation of third‑party funding and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and own the global Social Investment strategy and operating model across the APM Terminals portfolio.
- Design and oversee multi‑year, million‑dollar social investment programmes with clear development outcomes and measurable business value.
- Lead the identification and mobilisation of co‑funding, grants and in‑kind support from governments, development agencies, foundations and private investors.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with NGOs, public agencies, research institutions, industry partners and customers to deliver social and economic development initiatives.
- Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders, including terminal Managing Directors, governments, port authorities, communities and funders.
- Establish robust frameworks for programme governance, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, including KPIs, impact metrics and public communications.
- Ensure social investment initiatives actively support concession strategy, licence to operate, local procurement, enterprise development and long‑term stakeholder value creation.
- Support major projects (greenfield/brownfield) with social investment and community strategies.
- Establish governance frameworks, policies and standards for all social investment activities and ensure integration with broader business and operational strategies.
- Develop and implement frameworks for impact measurement and reporting and track social ROI and long‑term outcomes.
- Advise senior leadership on social risk, community relations and reputational considerations.
- Develop internal capabilities and best practices across business units.
- Terminal Managing Directors and Regional Leadership Teams.
- Global Sustainability and compliance functions at Maersk.

- Solid experience in private‑sector‑oriented sustainability, development or impact roles in infrastructure industry (e.g., Mining, Energy or similar industries).
- Experience designing and managing large‑scale, multi‑year programmes in a donor, NGO or corporate environment.
- Proven ability to raise matching funding from governments, development agencies, foundations and/or private investors.
