Operations Manager responsible for all daily manufacturing operations and production-related activities. This hands‑on position focuses on developing practices and actions that increase productivity and deliver results while maintaining the highest product quality and lowest possible cost within company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to plant staff in all aspects of the production operation.
  • Monitor departmental performance against goals to ensure results.
  • Anticipate and provide direction on future capital projects and equipment needs.
  • Maintain effective community and government relations.
  • Understand and deliver customer requirements.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through safe work behaviors, conditions, and elimination of deficiencies.
  • Manage subordinates, supervisors, and managers to meet employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, cost, and production objectives.
  • Meet food safety and quality requirements.
  • Drive behavioral‑based safety programs to enhance culture and results.
  • Lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and achieve efficiency goals.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to employees, developing and implementing plans to improve abilities.
  • Support development of internal talent for future advancement and promotional opportunities.
  • Coach, motivate, train, and manage the performance of plant managerial and support team members.
  • Ensure consistent, fair, and inclusive employment practices, legal and corporate compliance, and behaviors reflective of the company’s commitment to diversity.
  • Lead direct reports and partner with indirect functional staff.
  • Create a culture of honest, direct, regular, compassionate feedback and learning.
  • Leverage data for insights that drive business performance.
  • Maintain successful execution and outcomes, simplifying and standardizing processes.
  • Collaborate and promote teamwork, lead by example, provide outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain high ethical standards, act with integrity, dignity, fairness, candor, and compassion.
  • Organize, plan, and problem‑solve to exceed expectations and develop positive relationships.
  • Train and empower staff to execute plans effectively while managing tactical issues with strategic vision.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of lean operating principles and high‑performing work systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field (or equivalent knowledge, wisdom, and experience).
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Food industry experience and understanding of USDA, FDA, OSHA, and BRC/SQF requirements.
  • Current or previous experience in plant management overseeing operations for a similarly sized manufacturing operation.
  • Ability to understand the vision and culture of the organization and translate it into actionable plans, holding team members accountable to achieve desired results.
  • Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills, recognizing opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for varied audiences.
