adjunct music instructor – percussion

role: teaches percussion lessons and provides assistance and academic advising to percussion students outside of class. Teach other music courses as available.

• 55% teaches private percussion lessons as assigned by departmental chair.
• 10% uses appropriate technology for lesson communication.
• 10% stays current in both the professional field and current teaching/learning best practices.
• 10% works as a team member in the fine arts department.
• 10% contributes to department assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet thecb core objectives and sacscoc requirements.
• 5% complies with the faculty responsibilities as related in the faculty handbook and the board policy and procedures manual.

• the position requires a master's degree or higher in music from an accredited college or university.
• must be able to meet face-to-face lessons on the denison, tx campus during our sixteen-week term.
• must have one to two years of related experience.
• must have previous successful experience teaching voice in a high school, university and/or community college, and demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process.
• a significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
• work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
• work may involve motivating or influencing others.
