Summary
Description:
Develop, document and improve manufacturing yields by analyzing product and manufacturing methods, establish and document process standards, improve manufacturing deviations, troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and provide input on product and tool design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, manufacturability and cost effectiveness
- Educate process operators on proper procedures and process control. Develop lean manufacturing methods throughout the facility.
- Develop/design rigging systems, fixtures, tooling, gages
- Provide support for the production floor by troubleshooting problems in a timely manner
- Develop and document operating instructions that maintain process control
- Work closely with Quality Team to monitor key performance metrics, analyze data by applying statistical tools and identify opportunities for improvement
- Actively participate in product/process continuous improvement team activities and provide teams with statistical tool support; assist operation management in developing manufacturing work standards
- Develop operating methods, unique equipment or recommend modification to existing equipment to support improved effectiveness
- Utilize the appropriate process analysis, improvement, controls, communication and training tools to meet improvement goals
- Provide data to define and resolve customer issues
- Utilize top-of-the-line technologies to improve foundry practice
- Must have experience utilizing CAD Creo, Solidworks or similar design and dimensional modeling programs
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
B.S. in related engineering discipline is required. Two (2)-to-five (5) years of manufacturing experience is preferred. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Products.
Other Position Demands or RequirementsMust have proven troubleshooting, process improvement capabilities, and excellent project management skills. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have a strong desire to be on the shop floor. Must have process capability skills (CP/CPK). Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of engineers, managers, customers, vendors and employees.
Working Conditions/Physical DemandsSpends 75% of time in factory environment, exposed to heat, dust, fumes and noise of operations. Must be able to appropriately wear all safety required items including shoes, protective eyewear and hearing protection.
