Teller, Finance & Banking

Position:
Teller I at First United Bank.

• Maintain basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and relevant regulatory issues.
• Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities.
• Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
• Serve as the customer’s single point of contact for all First United Bank products and services.
• Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals and actively participate in all sales campaigns; promote new products and services and educate customers and peers.
• Participate in all meetings, bank functions and customer appreciation/community events as requested or assigned by supervisor.
• Consistently meet customer service expectations by greeting customers, smiling, using their name and building rapport to generate loyalty.
• Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs; make referrals to other staff members and departments as needed.
• Open new accounts, certificates of deposit and other ancillary products; answer questions, provide account opening information and ensure proper paperwork is completed and entered on the system.
• Assist customers with routine questions and requests: balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy.
• Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal errors according to First United Bank policies and procedures.
• Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties; verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate and prove cash drawer upon completion of shift to ensure compliance with standards.
• Resolve customer complaints, problems or other issues; review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports daily.
• Perform security functions by opening and closing bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds.
• Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Teller I position.

• High school diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of banking experience as a teller, lending assistant or new accounts.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Superior customer service skills required.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Exact or highly accurate with daily work.
• Ability to read, write and verbally communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Time‑management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good judgment, decision‑making skills and critical thinking.
• Ability to multi‑task and maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Ethical behavior in and out of work.
• Active listening skills.

Monday: 7:45‑5:30
Tuesday: OFF
Wednesday: 7:45‑5:30
Thursday: 7:45‑5:30
Friday: 8:00‑6:00
