Responsibilities

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility, has provided quality health care to residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is in Denison, Texas, about one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. We have facilities throughout the Texoma region. POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under the direction of a licensed nurse to assist in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in a professional and timely manner. Performs tasks as competency documentation designates. Provides direct care with limited invasive procedures. This position is an advancement opportunity for the Nurse Aide and adheres to the delegable tasks approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.

• Reading and numerical competency
• Two years of experience as a nursing assistant in healthcare preferred. Completion of CNA, Medical Assistant course, two years of nursing school or other recent comparable education and job experience recommended
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider as per RQI program guidelines; ECC Healthcare Provider courses provided during orientation or upon transfer. Must complete "Handle with Care" within 6 months of hire/transfer and annually thereafter
• Must be able to provide basic caregiving skills to patients and have effective communication and time management skills. Ability to follow procedural standards safely without direct supervision and demonstrate essential job functions
