Responsibilities
Responsible for knowledge of anatomy and physiology of surgical sites. Passes instruments on all procedures or acts as an assistant and hold retractors as needed. Practices aseptic technique. Assist in preparation of room prior to surgery and cleaning room after surgery. Assists staff and surgeons to insure instruments, supplies, and equipment are available when needed for surgical procedures. Has two (2) years experience in the Operating Room as a scrub tech.
Works in instrument room as needed. Takes assigned call as required. Exhibits knowledge of age specific needs of patients of all psychosocial, and/or cultural backgrounds. Integrally involved and participates with cost containment issues in the Operating Room.
