Job Opportunity At Texoma Medical Center

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region.

TMC has responded with unique services to provide the kind of sophisticated, experienced care that was once available only in major metropolitan areas. We offer major specialty services including open heart surgery and neurosurgery.

Advanced resources such as certified trauma care support TMC's role as a regional specialty center.

Perform routine phlebotomy procedures. Assist in clerical duties, processing of outpatient specimens, restocking, cleaning work areas, inventory assessment and performing testing procedures described as "waived" testing and moderately complex testing.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED, or highest level of education. Preferred Bachelors or Associates of Science. Reading and numerical competency. Training and certification from accredited phlebotomy program preferred. One year of recent phlebotomy experience or completion of MLT/Phlebotomy program. ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologist) certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required. Ability to learn computer system and computerized lab equipment. Demonstrates knowledge and exhibits skills in obtaining laboratory specimens from all age groups.

Must have moderate complex testing after initial training and assessment at six-months. Expectation that you can perform both waived and moderate complexity testing using Point of Care devices during code blue/trauma, or as needed in other areas. Must work well with people and maintain confidentiality.
