Summary

Description:

Ensure CMM is properly operated so that the product does not fall short of the quality standards required by the customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Insure the part‑inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and know the definitions of critical, major, minor characteristics
  • Must be able to run CMM programs, interpret data and make machining directional changes.
  • Working knowledge and experience using CMM, height gauge, surface plates, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, computerized gauges, etc.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances is a plus
  • Must have basic computer knowledge (Excel, Word, E‑mail)
  • Must have good problem solving skills, communication skills and organization skills
  • Must be able to work autonomously with little direction and exercise rational decision making when evaluating issues with either the parts or the CMM itself.
  • Must be able to determine whether a part is acceptable or not.
  • Responsible for ensuring that AS9100 and ISO 9001 are implemented and adhered to in your area
  • Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned

Skills or Experience

Required:

Must have High School diploma or GED. One (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Experience in quality inspection is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with others towards the resolution of problems.
Basic math skills required.

Must have the Ability to-

  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or government regulations
  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints), is a plus.

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
