Job Overview
Maintenance Mechanic – responsible for general maintenance, hydraulic systems, electrical & electronic systems, and basic welding to keep the plant operating safely and efficiently. The role requires working independently as well as within a team.
Responsibilities- Perform daily preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
- Maintain production lines to minimize downtime.
- Set up, inspect, and test machinery for proper operation.
- Diagnose and resolve malfunctions, listening for unusual sounds.
- Dismantle malfunctioning machinery, replace or repair parts, and restore functionality.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain key components such as bearings, gears, and shafts.
- Assist production and quality teams with troubleshooting or repairs.
- Support facility care and maintenance of the plant structure.
- Follow all safety protocols, including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- High school diploma or GED plus 1+ year related experience or 4 years direct experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing.
- Vocational, technical, or associate degree in maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of personnel, including contractors.
- Proficiency operating powered industrial trucks (forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills; able to read and execute work orders and write daily reports.
- Hourly maintenance competitive starting pay: $24.20–$34.45 per hour.
- Shift differential: $0.50 per hour for 2nd shift.
