Responsibilities
The LVN/LPN Urgent Care - Durant, Oklahoma position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include:
- Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician.
- Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
- Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
- Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to and consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.

Education:
Completion of LPN/LVN nursing training from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of one (1) year college or Technical School. Associates Degree preferred.
Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Current state registered license for LPN/LVN.
Work experience:
Minimum of one (1) year working as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse required.
Knowledge:
General office procedures.
Skills:
Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Abilities:
Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.
Equipment operated:
Office equipment such as a fax machine, a copier and a telephone system; EKG machine;
Computer.
Work environment:
Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Occasionally subject to irregular hours. May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
Mental/
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to handle emergency or crisis situations;
Must be able to see with corrective eyewear;
Must be able to hear clearly with assistance.
