Responsibilities

The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Nursing will also provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Patient centered care provides the foundation for all nursing care. RNs demonstrate service excellence standards at all times, guided by the standards of practice set forth by professional nursing associations.

• Current RN licensure in the state of Texas, or compact required, BSN preferred.
• Two years experience in acute care specialty nursing.
• One year charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
• Must maintain all clinical competencies for area of supervision.
• Current RQI, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications. TNCC required on hire.
• Must maintain all additional certifications required by area of supervision.
• Clinical certification in area of supervision preferred (e.g. CEN, TCEN, etc.).
• Must be clinically competent in area of population served.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.
• Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.
• Must possess basic computer application skills.
