Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. Responsible for managing health problems and coordinating age appropriate health care to the patient. Part of the innovative care team that will meet the individual needs of the patients and their family. Functions independently and under a collaborative agreement with the supervising physician and receives administrative supervision from a clinical departmental director. Practices in accordance with hospital rules and regulations and the APNs professional body's standard of care providing evidence-based age appropriate care in an age appropriate care model.

Included in their scope of practice is performing histories, examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures along with prescribing pharmalogical and non-pharmalogical interventions. Manages chronic patient conditions and is instrumental in providing patient/family education. Active as a respected member of the healthcare team designed to meet the individual needs of the patient and their family. Takes key responsibility as a patient advocate and ensuring referral of the patient when necessary.

Affects direct patient care according to the nurse practice act of the State of Texas and Texoma Medical Center Standards of Nursing Care policies and procedures.

• Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).
• Three years experience in acute care specialty nursing. Three years in Advanced Practice preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be…
