Texoma Family Shelter Is Seeking

1 Part-Time Resident Assistant (RA) available on Fridays from 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm. This position requires training to be completed on multiple nights (or days) throughout the week prior to working solo.

1 Part-Time Resident Assistant (RA) available on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm.

The Formerly known as Grayson County Shelter, Texoma Family Shelter (TFS) is the only 24‑hour living facility in the Texoma region providing multiple survival services to families and individuals experiencing homelessness, with the explicit goal of self‑reliance. Our goal is to provide the best service possible to assist those at risk in our community, and to keep families intact in order to alleviate the negative impact of homelessness on both children and parents.

• Assisting residents with daily needs (supplies/services) and supervising chore assignments
• Ensuring shelter rules are being followed for the safety and well‑being of both residents and staff
• Staffing the front desk, including answering the phone in a professional manner, receiving and recording donations, and light data entry
• Preparing rooms for new residents and providing needed supplies and personal hygiene items
• Monitoring the front lobby and logging incoming and outgoing donations; monitoring safety of the facility and premises (lighting, locks, cleaning, etc.)
• Communicating with residents, staff, volunteers, and donors in a compassionate manner
• Performing other job‑related duties as assigned by the RA supervisor
• Assembling and distributing food boxes

• Basic computer knowledge, high school diploma or equivalent, confidentiality
• Candidate must be able to pass a background and drug test
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds, bend and walk freely and frequently
• Patience, emotional maturity, and a sense of humor are essential—you will be dealing with people in crisis
• Flexibility—able to multitask and cope with multiple, competing priorities
