cares coordinator‑lpc‑a/lmsw intern role

the grayson cares coordinator provides professional counseling services and serves as the primary point of contact for students referred through the grayson cares referral system. This role delivers mental health counseling and crisis intervention, coordinates clinical and non‑clinical case management, and connects students with appropriate campus and community resources. The coordinator also supports training and outreach initiatives to promote awareness of the grayson cares program, serves as foster care liaison for students with foster care experience, and contributes to program assessment through outcomes tracking, accountability measures, and data‑informed practices.

Additional responsibilities include supporting special projects and performing other duties as assigned in alignment with the mission of student success and well‑being at grayson college.

salary: $60,495.36 - $90,743.04 per year.

essential functions & responsibilities
  • 45% provides professional counseling services to students referred through grayson cares program. Serves as the primary point of contact for students referred through the grayson cares referral system. Prepares required reports and records in compliance with departmental, institutional, and professional standards. Refers students to community resources as needed. Responds to campus mental health emergencies and provides crisis counseling and intervention.
  • 20% provides non‑clinical and clinical case management for students referred through the grayson cares program. Coordinates care plans, conducts outreach and follow‑up, monitors student progress, and collaborates with campus partners to ensure students receive appropriate academic, personal, and community‑based supports.
  • 10% foster care liaison: works with foster care youth who are taking college classes and students who are no longer under foster care because of age or adoption.
  • 10% assists with the development and delivery of on‑campus and off‑campus trainings related to student mental health, crisis response, and the grayson cares referral process. Promotes awareness of the grayson cares program through presentations, workshops, and outreach initiatives to faculty, staff, students, and community partners to strengthen a caring and informed campus culture.
  • 10% assists with developing outcomes, accountability, and predictive analytics for students receiving grayson cares services and the student population in general.
  • 5% performs other job duties as assigned.
