Overview
Position Summary The Ready Mix Instructor reports to the Plant Manager and will be in a role of secondary supervision. Primary functions are to coordinate Ready Mix driver training and assist with safe and timely Ready Mix deliveries.
Responsibilities- Coordinate Ready Mix driver training and assist with safe and timely Ready Mix deliveries.
- Trains new/existing employees to operate a Ready Mix truck safely and efficiently adhering to DOT and company rules and regulations.
- Develops curriculum required for driver training and selects driver mentors to assist with training.
- Evaluate drivers and personalize training to meet drivers’ needs; provide instructions on procedures to perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and maintain accurate records on vehicles.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and promote a 24/7 Safe Culture; train in the use of required safety equipment and facilitate in-house safety meetings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of lock out/tag out procedures; conduct job site hazard assessments and take corrective actions.
- Maintain good customer relations on job sites and ensure all DOT required paperwork is completed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Desired 2 years of experience operating a Ready Mix Truck
- Possess a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Required
- Smith System Trainer Certification (Ability to obtain within 6 months)
- ACI Field Testing Certified (preferred or must be obtained within 120 days from date of hire)

- Operate hand controls and foot pedals
- Perform sustained overhead reaching and use vibration tools
- Tolerate working outdoors in all temperatures and weather and areas with potential for high noise levels
- Work at heights up to 9 feet
Majority of time is spent in an outdoor setting with exposure to various weather conditions. Occasional time in an office environment. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc. Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and a Monday through Saturday schedule.
