This posting may close at any time once a sufficient number of applications have been received. The Deputy Clerk I performs specialized clerical, administrative, and secretarial work in an assigned department.

Examples of duties include answering telephones and greeting visitors; utilizing computerized data entry equipment and various word processing and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and retrieve information; processing incoming and outgoing mail; balancing the cash drawer daily and preparing related reports; screening applications for services; recording legal documents; collecting court costs and fees; scanning all recorded documents; performing passport services for US citizens;

and performing other related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and minimum of one year of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Specific certifications related to the area of assignment may be required for this position.

The primary location for this position is Denton, Texas and at times this position may require some travel to other satellite locations.
