Primary
Purpose:
Provide clerical, customer service, and general support to campus office staff. Assist with routine office operations, student services, and special projects.
Education and Certification:
- Must be actively enrolled Junior or Senior in a Denton ISD Career Prep program throughout employment
Experience:
- None required
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, parents, and community members
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficient organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
Campus Office Support
- Assist campus office staff with clerical and administrative duties as assigned
- Answer phones, route calls, take messages, and provide basic information to students, staff, parents, and visitors
- Assist with student check-in/check-out procedures and visitor assistance as directed
- Prepare, organize, and file records and documents
- May assist with mail distribution, copying, and other routine office tasks
- Create student identification cards and assist with other campus support functions as assigned
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, staff, parents, and visitors
Safety and Compliance
- Follow district policies, campus procedures, and applicable safety protocols.
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Work primarily in an office environment with occasional outdoor duties; regular interaction with students, staff, parents, and visitors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
