Position OverviewThe Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Financial Aid Administrator to join our Scholarship Management System Team. This position will assist with the maintenance and development of UNT’s scholarship management system and related scholarship processing and customer service duties. It provides support to the Assistant Director by coordinating activities related to all projects.
The position’s main duties are to enhance department and organization processes by exploring opportunities and ensuring the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication to all parties involved. The Financial Aid Administrator handles multiple projects within a fast‑paced environment and is open to constant changes and challenges. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, lead and direct the work of other team members, and be able to manage multiple projects at once in the absence of day‑to‑day guidance.
- Bachelor's in a related field, three years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted.
- Must maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- In‑depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies and procedures or ability to quickly assimilate.
- Ability to problem‑solve, multi‑task and organize in a fast‑paced collaborative environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships.
- Experience working within a Financial Aid Office.
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding the administration of financial aid.
- Prior experience with Blackbaud Award Management (or a similar scholarship management system)

- Maintain UNT’s scholarship management system (Blackbaud Award Management). Assist with site management, supporting existing users, onboarding new users, and implementing improvements to existing configuration and business processes.
- Provide training, guidance, and written policy/procedures to department users and applicable customer service and advising staff. Serve as main point of contact for scholarship management system questions.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations regarding the administration of scholarships and financial aid. Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisor regarding existing policy, business processes, and practices to identify needed improvements with goal to develop and maintain best business practices.
- Process scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
- Assist with Financial Aid Scholarship customer service and processing tasks.
