Job SummaryThe Service Foreman ensures that technicians perform repairs correctly and efficiently and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. Distributes repair orders to maintain efficient shop flow. Also monitoring the progress of all work in process to ensure the repair is completed in a timely manner. Daily supervision of service technicians. Schedule and assign work as required.
Check and review work in process and follow up for completion as scheduled. Inspect and, if necessary, road test vehicles upon completion of work. Inform the Service Manager of all customer complaints so they may be handled before the vehicle leaves the shop. Assist in maintaining a clean shop and making sure that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition.
Make customer estimates when necessary. Assist the Service Writer in opening and completing Work Orders. Act as a liaison between customers and technicians. Backup Service Manager and Service Writer when needed. Assist the Warranty Administrator in ensuring warranty claims are processed in a timely and correct manner. Pre-plan parts requirements for each job to ensure parts are available when technicians need them.
Work with the Service Manager and New and Used Truck Salespersons to ensure that all sold trucks are properly prepared for the customer. Perform other duties as required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, a college degree, or a certificate/degree from a trade school is preferred.
- Five years of industry experience.
- Five years of supervisory experience.
- Proven experience working closely with internal and external customers.
- Ability to handle multiple work assignments as needed to support the team.
- Ability to lead and motivate employees.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Committed to serving our customers and developing a team with similar values.
- Basic computer skills.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
