Compensation: $10.00 / hour
The Community Assistant (CA) role is a leadership and career development opportunity that supports a vibrant living environment within a student housing apartment community. CAs are integral to the marketing and leasing process in their communities. Once residents have leased, CAs assist with various needs, promote community engagement, and help maintain a safe and inclusive atmosphere. The Community Assistant serves as a resource, provides customer service, and contributes to the overall well-being of residents.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
Provide exceptional service to residents, prospective residents, and guests. Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by addressing concerns, maintaining a clean and organized community space, and ensuring a positive resident experience. - Resident Support:
Assist residents with inquiries, concerns, and requests. Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding community policies, procedures, and services. Provide guidance and referrals to campus resources when necessary. - Leasing & Marketing:
Participate in the leasing and marketing process, including outreach marketing, social media strategy, tours, and handling digital inquiries, calls, and visits. Involved in multiple elements of the sales process. - Community Engagement:
Develop and implement activities and programs that foster community spirit and resident involvement. Collaborate with fellow CAs and staff to promote diversity and inclusion and personal growth. - Administrative Duties:
Manage resident inquiries, maintain accurate resident records and documentation, coordinate room assignments, move-ins, and move-outs, and help maintain bulletin boards and communications channels. - Safety and Security:
Promote a safe living environment by enforcing policies, reporting maintenance issues and safety concerns, and assisting with emergency response procedures. - Team
Collaboration:
Work with staff to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive community. Participate in meetings and training; support Resident Directors and other staff as needed. - Participate in the turn process.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on community and institutional needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor others.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about campus resources and services.
- Understanding of and commitment to diversity, inclusion, and respect.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn software applications.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.
- Ability to be on-call for emergencies.
- Current account in good standing (if current resident).
